I love Shark Tank, and I hate it.
Shark Tank debuted and people watch it and some thought “That looks easy!”
Recently I spoke to a founder who went on Shark Tank. The episode showed about 12 minutes with the founder and the sharks and resulted in an investment. His actual time in front of the panel was about 70 minutes. It was not easy. The sharks asked tough questions. The episode provided an incomplete picture of how investment might work.
On the plus side, I love that Shark Tank has added more business words to our common vocabulary – and I love watching entrepreneurs tell the story of inspiration and persistence.
